Audible

Hello Readers, today I want to talk about my time with Audible.

Disclaimer: ⚠️ This is not sponsored in any way but I thought it would be a fun discussion post.

I started using Audible 4 months ago. Today I canceled my subscription. First I should say I absolutely LOVE Audible! I think it is a wonderful service and I look forward to getting to pick out a new audiobook to listen to every month. It feels like Christmas to me. I absolutely love how I can exchange a book if I am not enjoying it. I love that there are so many options to choose from. My decision to cancel my subscription has more to do with who I am as a human rather than anything Audible did.

As you may be aware I absolutely love listening to Audiobooks. I also love listening to audiobooks while reading the book. Basically, I was buying the book and then buying an audiobook. You may be thinking? Emily! Just pick audiobooks of books you do not own. That is a perfectly logical and reasonable solution. However, I like to go back and forth, I like to be able to see my progress and count how many pages I have until I reach a certain goal. For some reason, listening to an audiobook when I don’t have a hard copy is both frustrating and it makes me uncomfortable. Which is dumb.

So, because I am very much stuck in my weird ways I will be discontinuing my time with the wonderful service that is Audible.  But don’t worry I will continue to use Hoopla and Overdrive which are connected to my local library. The downside of that is having to deal with them not owning the book or the waiting list. But, it is ok.

That is all for this post. Do you use Audible or any other audiobook service? If so let me know! Please give this a big thumbs up by pressing the like button! Also, make sure you follow so that you don’t miss out on any future posts! Bye – Emily
